Zukhruff offers a variety of services, however, we try to specialize only in the design aspect of the project; that said, we do have contacts in the other fields that closely relate to design. Below you will find a quick list of what we do and what we don’t do.
We do: offer a range of communication material, from corporate communications to magazines and newsletters, from just a simple logo to a full fledged corporate identity. We offer the designs in either English, Arabic, or both at the same time. We also like to hear what the client has to say, after all, the client isn’t the enemy.
We do not: offer any PR, marketing, media buying, or event planing and management. If you require help with any of these fields we would be very happy to assist you in locating and contacting a suitable firm that suits your needs.
As a devout Muslim Islam does not work on projects for the following firms:
1. Cigarette Companies – Their advertising might have been restricted in the West / Europe but in the Middle East and in many 3rd world Countries… they don’t have these restrictions… that’s how they can still turn a profit when smoking is on a decline in their countries of origin.
2. Adult Industry Companies – No pornography in any way shape or form.
3. No Banks / Lottos / Insurance Companies – Islam dictates that Muslims are not to work with institutions that deal with Usury , unfair trade, or gambling .
4. Breweries, Alcoholic retailers, Bars etc. - That includes places that serve it … manufacture it, market it, transport it.
5. Hotels & Resorts – This has to do with part 4 of the list… places that serve alcohol… hotels that do not serve Alcohol are exempt but this is rarely the case.
6. Work that promotes Atheism or contains Blasphemous Material – Anything that contains statements that can be disrespectful to God, his Angels, His Prophets or the messages and doctrines that they were sent with.
7. Music / Music Radio Stations – No Music station imaging, song introduction or anything similar.
8. No Islamic Sects or Other Religions – I am Sunni muslim. I don’t do work for things that promote Sufism, The Shiaa or Church Charities be they Christian or Scientology based.
9. I Am A Muslim – And because I am a Muslim I don’t work with any company remotely associated with Israel so please don’t try. Your money doesn’t interest me.
Reasons for the Restrictions:
I’m a practicing Muslim which is a predominantly positive thing for my clients because:
1. I cannot make a promise to them about something that I knowingly cannot keep.
2. I cannot practice usury on you. So if you are late in payment I cannot put a markup fee.
3. I am religiously bound to do the best job I can possibly do because work is considered an ethic and ethics are of a divine source.
But This also means that because of my religious beliefs I cannot accept any and all jobs that my agents send me. Which is why I provide my clients with this list of restrictions before accepting a job.
